The Blackberry 8900 was released in early 2009 with OS version 5.0 as a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE phone and named the Curve 8900. The device is an upgrade over the older 8300 model, with the most significant differences being a 3.2-megapixel camera, a micro-USB port, Wi-Fi, and an upgraded operating system.
TechRadar gave the Curve 9380 three out of five stars, complimenting its affordability, the quality of its screen, its design for being more comfortable and not as fragile as other smartphones, and the improvements in the 7.0 operating system. However, reviewers also felt the device felt unstable, its social networking integration was of inconsistent quality, the implementation the BlackBerry OS on a touchscreen device wasn't as elegant or mature as other smartphone platforms, and concluded that the phone \"[isn't the] best option in its price range.\"[7]
I have a hard time understanding why RIM would release the Curve 3G 9300 with an outdated operating system. It has already released BlackBerry OS 6 in tandem with the Torch 9800, so we should be able to assume that the OS is ready for use. BlackBerry OS 6 could, at the very least, improve the web br...
Not only does the Curve add 3G (but apparently not HSDPA), but it also adds GPS, the new BlackBerry 6 operating system and 802.11n support to the existing WiFi interface. The feature set makes the previous generation Curve look quite primitive.. which in reality it was.
You can multitask with the Curve 3G, and while the operating system is generally nippy, it can start to feel the heat if you have several functions working simultaneously. Messaging is, of course, at the Curve 3G's core and it isn't lacking in options for e-mail (very easy to set up and use) with the option to incorporate all your messages into a universal inbox, including Facebook and Twitter messages (direct messages though, not updates).

In early June, Apple introduced a new version of its operating system for the iPhone line of devices, iOS 4. Included on the list of new features is refreshable braille support. According to Apple, more than 30 braille devices will be supported by its iOS 4 products, iPhone, iPod, and the iPad.
Comparing the functionality of each of these utilities and applications to those available on the PC or a notebook computer is an important exercise when deciding which device is best for an individual situation. Because the notetaker differs technically from notebooks and desktop computers, a mobile version of Windows is used as the operating system. Although powerful in comparison to the first notetakers, this version of Windows places some limitations on the applications notetakers are able to offer.
